We Like To Move It!

Today Room 12, 3 and 4 were busy in the hall learning some new fitness and brain gym activities. We were lucky to have some big buddies from the senior school come and help us at each action station. We can work together as a team, follow instructions and take turns! It is fun to work with our friends from other classes.

Autumn Fun

The Mystery Leaf

Torin and Michael came to school with a giant leaf.
Room 4 couldn't work out what tree it came from. We asked lots of teachers and parents... We kept checking on the internet to see if their guess was right. Finally we figured it out! It belonged to a Palm Tree. We wanted to see if we could find a Palm Tree. So we went on a scavenger hunt. Did you know we have a Palm Tree near the junior playground? We also found some other interesting leaves to do some leaf rubbings with. We noticed the different colours, shapes and textures.

Room 4 thinks Autumn is fun!

Special Performance

Today the Java Dance Company came to our school. We loved it!

We noticed that the dancers glided along the stage and used all of the hall, it was very entertaining. Especially when they rollerbladed around the hall and jumped out of the kitchen window, it made us all laugh.

The dancers were so strong! They used lots of different types of dance including; ballet, hip hop, modern and gymnastics. They stayed in character the whole time-we thought their singing was really good too.

Can you see the penguins, the albatross or the seal?

PE Term 2

We are learning how to strike...

Step 1- stand side on.
Step 2-shake hands with the bat.
Step 3-swing your arm like a gate.

Look at our indoor P.E. lesson with Nathan.

We had fun striking the balloons!

Market Day Celebration!

Wow we made $127 Brightwater Dollars!

Our red, white and black uniform looks great. Go Team!

Inquiry Writing

Today we made apple juice it sounded like an aeroplane. We got to taste it! It tasted scrum-didly-umptious! I have a juicer at home. I am going to ask my mum if we can make an apple, carrot and berry juice. The juice tasted like sour lollies.

We made a pictograph in Maths to decide which apple snacks we wanted to make for Market Day.
We put together a survey to see what apple snacks students and teachers at Brightwater School would buy on Market Day.

We put on our thinking hats and reflected on our learning journey. We wrote about our highlights from Market Day and what we were most proud of.

Well done Room 4! Ma te mahi ka ora- from hard work comes success.
