Not a Box!

You're about to go on an amazing adventure!
All you need to take you there is a cardboard box…

We read the story NOT A BOX,
This picture book, captures the wonder of looking
at the ordinary and seeing the extraordinary!

As part of our Discovery time on Friday we brainstormed lots of different uses for a box… Then we made our favourite design come to life. Take a look at our brilliant ideas!

Writers at Work

In Room 4 we try hard to achieve our daily learning goals in writing. When we write we think about our sentence, we say it out loud, then we write it down and check it makes sense.
Charlotte can use a word card to help her with her spelling. Charlotte has great ideas!
Harrison is working on using describing words. Lachlan can re-read his writing to check it makes sense to the reader.

Roy can use full stops and capital letters. He is making sure he uses finger spaces too.

Libby made goop today! We loved playing with it outside. When it was touched softly it was a liquid. But when we touched it with force-it went hard! This experiment made us wonder...

Shia's bubbles looked solid.

Monique made a whirlpool. The dishwashing liquid tried to break down the milk.

Science Alive

More fantastic experiments from home!

Roy made the colours mix together like a whirlpool.

We thought this experiment was a magic trick!
Over the day the red water moved from one cup to the other using a tissue! This experiment got us thinking!

Yes! It worked! Wow Michael's floating egg Science was interesting.
We made connections to swimming in the sea.

Today when Torin opened the window he said he had found some Science…
Can you see the baby spiders?

Science Alive

Wow look at our fantastic Science experiments. Science is FUN!!!!
Wow Caleb we really enjoyed your balloon experiment.
We made predictions and learnt about chemical reactions.

Michael taught us about chemical reactions too. We could see and hear the 'fizz'.
Niall taught us about how a flower absorbs water.

Day 5

Sophie's worm farm that she made at home. Can you see the different layers of soil?

Oliver's rocket! We counted back from 10 to blast off! It really worked!
