Samoan Language Week

Samoan is the third most spoken language in New Zealand, with 144,000 people at the last Census identifying as Samoan. It is also the second most spoken language in Auckland.

This years theme is “Tautua nei mo sou manuia a taeao” – “Serve now for a better tomorrow” and we hope that everyone will draw on the skills and expertise of those who speak Pacific languages, and be brave, and have a go at speaking Samoan!

Good morning – Manuia le Taeao
Have a great day – Ia manuia le aso
Have a great week – Ia manuia le vaiaso
Have a great evening – Ia manuia le afiafi
Take good care of your health – Vaai fa’alelei lou soifua
