P.M.P.

Mrs Earle introduced a new activity today at P.M.P. We had to work together and use our bodies to balance on the board.

Science Alive

It was fun meeting Libby's guinea pigs.
Wow Taylor taught us about lava… This experiment was exciting to watch!

Torin had 2 experiments to share today. We watched the mentos and coke explode!
We enjoyed observing the frozen lego man… We found out that the lego man in water melted first.
Alex's experiment was like magic… He made an egg drop into a bottle.

Michael taught us about dancing raisins.
Thanks Oliver for sharing your baby rabbits with us for news today.

Miles made bubbles!

Spring Poems

Today in class we used our senses to write poems about Spring. We went outside and observed like scientists...

We noticed lots of changes in the weather.

Enjoy our Spring writing!

Spring
I saw yellow daffodils.
I heard fantails tweeting.
I felt the soft breeze.
I wondered where the clouds have gone…

Spring
I saw a medium sized daffodil.
I heard a tui high in the tree.
I felt the sun and the wind on my face.
I wondered where all the clouds have gone…
By Michael

Spring
I saw 10 daffodils.
I heard a tui call from a Kowhai tree.
I wondered when the bees will come back…
By Lachlan H

Spring
I saw green blossom.
I heard the tui call.
I felt the soft wind in the sky.
I wondered if more daffodils will grow…
By Roy

Spring
I saw a tui.
I heard the tui sing.
I felt the breeze on my face.
I wondered why the clouds are only by the mountains…

Inquiry Term 2 Celebrating Culture

This term we celebrated people and culture. We learnt about how we are the same and how some things are very special to us. We shared stories, asked questions and studied many different countries. Room 4 thinks inquiry learning is the best!

Amy and Karolyne shared all about life in Canada.

Torin wearing his Dad's special Scottish kit ...

Caleb, Jakey and Lorna shared lots of special things about Rarotonga.

We dressed Amy in traditional Rarotongan clothes.

Sophie taught us all about Zambia

Room 4 all aboard the aeroplane. Amy and Sophie were our captains today.

We always made sure we had our passports so we could write or draw the special things we learnt about on our trip. We had to find out 3 or more special things about each country, recognise its flag and be able to say a greeting. We then made connections to New Zealand culture. Along the way we visited…New Zealand, Australia, Scotland, Rarotonga and Canada. During the Commonwealth games we learnt about many more countries...
